Dr. Pepper Rallies For 'Chinese Democracy'

  • 27-3-2008
Following a flurry of early album releases last week from Gnarls Barkley and the Raconteurs, this week is proving to be a bit more stagnant&emdash;so much so that corporate America is taking action. In a valiant effort to save America from mediocre music, Dr. Pepper is tempting Axl Rose with the prospect of a free can of soda for everyone in the States if he will release his album, Chinese Democracy, sometime&emdash;anytime&emdash;in 2008.
As a company that has achieved the perfect blend of 23 flavors in one single can, they can empathize with the desire to create a masterpiece, but enough is enough. The Gun's 'N Roses frontman has been working on the album for nearly 20 years already, and the soda company has decided that the time for a rock 'n' roll savior is now. They are encouraging fans to lobby in support of the release, and have even gotten nasty, promising that former G 'N R guitarists Slash and Buckethead will be denied the promised beverage. source:cmj.com
